Simulating Virtual Business Environments - Morale building
In a large international textiles company, made up of small factories throughout the world, including South America and South-East Asia, senior management observed that many of the plants worked in isolation and local management were dispirited and felt excluded from the corporate culture in Europe and North America.
An Edit 515 simulation was organised to run as an international competitive event involving all of the company's plants over a period of six months. This aroused a strongly competitive spirit throughout the group.
By reporting the event in the company news bulletin, employees became aware of their place in the organisation and found a new sense of belonging.
