Simulating Virtual Business Environments - Networking
Business simulations are used to encourage networking, in a manner similar to team building. One particular example concerns a large accounting firm holding its annual international partners' meeting where over 250 people from as far apart as Fiji and the Ukraine attended. The problem was to encourage these diverse individuals to mix and form new and useful contacts from other parts of the company's empire.
The Edit 515 solution was to form 40 teams of 6 individuals and run 7 simulations of 5 or 6 teams each. This was held in a large indoor arena over two days.
The noise level generated by 250 accountants discussing imaginary business problems in this single space was probably close to 'health and safety' limits!
This was voted by the accounting firm as the most exciting partners' meeting ever.
