Edit 515 software is used exclusively in this annual, international business competition which now includes over thirty countries worldwide, from every continent. Our partners in Portugal, SDG, organise this event on a knock-out basis, with three rounds played nationally. The basic format of this competition was originally pioneered (in 1970) by Edit 515 Ltd. but that was strictly a Scottish based enterprise.

Edit 515 Ltd is not a marketing company. But our business partner Luis Alves Costa (who has become a very good friend) most certainly is. He founded Simuladores e Modelos de Gestao (SDG) based in Lisbon Portugal and it was he (in collaboration with Edit 515 Ltd) who conceived and established the Global Management Challenge (GMC) launching it in 1980. Not only is his son, Pedro Alves Costa, a business partner of Edit 515 Ltd (and also a very good friend) but he now has taken on the mantle from his father, and together, SDG established the GMC as the foremost International Management competition in the world.

GMC has been recognised by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) awarding it CEL (teChnology-Enhanced Learing) accreditation.

GMC, the Global Management Challenge, is a major international event, whose sponsors include Accenture, Barclays Bank, Expresso newspaper, Portugal Telecom and Staples Office Centre.
Each year, about twenty thousand individuals participate in this challenging competition. taking the total to well over four hundred thousand from all over the world.

The Global Management Challenge differs from our other products (such as Topaz-Vbe and Emerald-Vbe) because the GMC model is continually being revised and updated, often significantly, to reflect current and future business issues and concerns. This ensures that it remains topical and relevant for both business students and the business community.
