Experiential Decision Analysis - Management Skills

A leading UK finance House used an Edit 515 Business Simulation to allow graduate trainees to develop the practical skills needed to manage a business.

Teams, working with a mentor, were only allowed to function in a business-like way. Boardroom meetings were the only forum for discussion (though individual analysis was encouraged). Meetings were controlled by the Chairman; proper minutes were kept; formal and factual presentations were made; action notes were sent out and participants were held responsible for doing what was expected of them. The training process ended with the preparation of a real, glossy, annual company report.

A major Scottish company used the business simulation over many years, both internally and within a national competition, to develop the corporate responsibility of its Board of Directors. It was subsequently extended to all senior managers in the organisation.
